As a member of Cambridge Who’s Who you are provided with an online profile to showcase your accomplishments and endeavors. It’s the page where you explain who you are, what you do and what has motivated you to become successful in your career. Your profile also includes your photo, contact information and any other relevant biographical information you decide to share. So, if you have all of that, then what is CamBiz™ and why do you need it?

The Cambridge Business (CamBiz™) directory is a special section of www.cambridgewhoswho.com where Cambridge Who’s Who members can highlight their place of business. Not only is CamBiz™ a business directory, but it also facilitates networking; members use CamBiz™ as a resource when they are looking for potential service providers, vendors and business partners. By profiling your business in CamBiz™, you open yourself up to new business relationships and clients. We also encourage you to use the directory as a quick way to search for and find members who you may be interested in networking with. Being active within the Cambridge Who’s Who online networking community by utilizing tools such as CamBiz™ will generate more contacts for you and your company.

Unlike your personal profile (which is all about you), CamBiz™ focuses solely on your company. Here you can include a mission statement, an expanded description of your business and its core products and services and an image of the logo. You can also list your company’s full contact information, including a mailing address, phone number, fax number, email address and website URL. Another great feature of CamBiz™ is that your listing is directly linked to your profile, so that members who view your business listing can follow a link back to your personal page to find out more information about you. CamBiz™ gives you additional exposure while providing you with an outlet to promote your company. This is particularly valuable for our entrepreneurs, consultants and freelancers.

CamBiz™ has one other extra benefit: free advertising. If you offer a Cambridge member discount in your CamBiz™ profile, you will receive an advertisement listed in the “Exclusive Offers” section of the left-hand sidebar. Exclusive offers rotate throughout the members-only pages of the website and provide direct links to CamBiz™ listings, thus drawing more attention to your business and personal profiles. Furthermore, members who offer a discount to their fellow Cambridge members are considered for the Featured Business section of Who’s News, the Cambridge Who’s Who newsletter.

CamBiz™ profile are also listed on the My Cambridge page of the website. This brings you additional exposure based on the industries you indicate in your listing. Members have the option of customizing their homepage by selecting the industries they are interested in so that only relevant information is displayed on their My Cambridge page. Make sure you select the appropriate industries when completing your CamBiz™ application so that you appear on My Cambridge.

Ready to submit a CamBiz™ listing?
Follow these steps and download the CamBiz™ Instructions and Guidelines.

1. Log into www.cambridgewhoswho.com using your assigned username and password.


2. On the “My Cambridge” page, select the CamBiz™ link that appears in the horizontal navigation bar along the top of your screen.


3. Select the “Post Your Business” button.


4. Fill out the application form.


5. Once your application has been approved (allow 24 to 48 hours for review) it will be listed in CamBiz™.

My Online Profile: Picture Perfect

Adding an image is an important part of completing your profile.

One of the most frequently asked questions that Cambridge Who's Who members have for the technical support department is, "What kind of image can I upload to my profile and how do I do this?" Today we take a look at adding images to your Cambridge Who's Who profile.

Cambridge Who's Who allows you to upload your photo, company logo or business card to your online profile. Utilizing the space in your profile allotted for an image is essential to making your biography of interest to other Cambridge Who's Who members. Your image will be the first thing that catches another member's attention and draws them in to reading the rest of your profile and learning more about you and what you have to offer.

At the moment Cambridge Who's Who only publishes one photo alongside your online profile at a time, but we will increase this number in the future. We recommend that you upload either a photo of yourself, your company logo or a scanned image of your personal business card. Whichever you choose, make sure that the picture is of high-quality and relates to your business profile.

Keep in mind that Cambridge Who's Who is a networking tool for executives, professionals and entrepreneurs, and so your profile image should convey that you are indeed an executive, professional or entrepreneur! The most common profile picture is a headshot taken from the chest up. A simple image like this complements your profile instead of detracting from it.

If you do not have a picture you would like to upload the next best thing would be your company logo. Cambridge Who's Who members who view your profile will associate your information with the logo and remember the connection should they come across it again. The last type of image you can upload is your business card. The problem with uploading your business card is that it will be scaled to fit in the space, and this may distort the image making it difficult to read the card. Unless you have a very high quality image of your business card, save this option as a last resort and try to upload an image of yourself or your company logo first.

Now that you have decided which image you are going to use, it is time to upload it to your profile. To do this, follow these instructions:

1. Log in to your Cambridge Who's Who profile using your uniquely assigned username and password.
2. Go to "My Profile" from the sidebar.
3. Select "Edit Your Profile" then scroll down to the tabbed sections and select the "Images" tab.
4. Select the "Browse" button to search your computer for the correct image file.
5. Remember to select "Save Changes," so you do not lose your image.

Here are some guidelines to keep in mind when choosing the correct image to accompany your Cambridge Who's Who profile.

1. All emailed and uploaded images must be in either JPEG or TIFF format. If it is a JPEG file, set quality to high (compression to low). Other file types will not upload correctly so be sure to check that you have saved your image as the correct file type.
2. Personal Photos - If you are using a photo make sure that it is at least 300 dpi or if you are scanning a photo make sure that it is at least a 5" x 7" photo for the best quality.
3. Business Cards - If you are using a business card make sure that you quality/resolution is at least 900 dpi.
